You asked, she answered! This week, on the Wild Wire blog, Veronica Johnson from The Marine Mammal Center is here to answer real questions from Earth Rangers like you!
Every year, Veronica and her friends at The Marine Mammal Center rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of marine mammals, including harbor seals, sea lions, and otters. They care for these animals until they’re healthy enough to return to the ocean safely.
In this video, Veronica answers some of the questions that you submitted, including:
- What marine mammals do you help the most?
- What’s the best part of working at The Marine Mammal Center?
- How did you pick your job as a marine biologist?
- Since it’s important to give wild animals space, how do you do your job safely?
And here’s the best news: You can be a Wildlife Hero for seals, sea lions, and sea otters, exactly like Veronica and her friends at The Marine Mammal Center! Just head to the Missions section in the Earth Rangers App to accept the Shoreline Saver mission.
When you successfully complete the mission, you’ll receive a free digital harbor seal adoption kit courtesy of our friends at Dawn! Plus, Dawn will donate $5 to The Marine Mammal Center to help them continue their invaluable work.
How do Harbor seals mate?
Thank you, Veronica (and everyone at The Marine Mammal Center)! Keep up the good work!
