Take Action to Protect Red Foxes
The best way to help red foxes is to conserve their natural habitat - this means protecting natural areas like forests and grasslands from development. Development and urbanization force fox to live closer to people. Disturbances from urban environments can be extremely dangerous for fox. It's extremely important that animals like fox have protected areas undisturbed from development and urbanization.
By completing Eco Activity #65: Introducing the red fox!, you can complete a fun craft while raising awareness for red fox populations in need of help! Create a paper fox mask to prance around in; don’t be shy, take some photos and spread the word about foxes!
If you would like to take your action a step further, become an Earth Ranger to adopt your very own red fox! , Adopting a red fox contributes to preserving the Lathrop Nature Reserve, which is an 100 year old natural habitat located in Ontario. This nature reserve is an excellent home for many animal species, including the red fox and is even home to a large wetland!
