Take Action to Protect the Field Mouse
The best way to protect field mice is to conserve their natural habitat - this means protecting natural areas like forests and grasslands from development. Development and urbanization brings animals like field mice closer to humans where they face dangers they wouldn't find in their natural habitats.
By completing ‘Eco Activity #4: Creepy crawler cottage!’, you can create some little homes for our friends, the field mice! This activity originally is for insects, but works just as well for the field mice that may be residing in your garden or backyard.
If you would like to take your action a step further, become an Earth Ranger to access the Habitat Hero Mission! If you like helping out and caring for animals, this is the mission for you! The Habitat Hero Mission includes creating little homes for various animals right in your own backyard. These mini-habitats are excellent places for animals to sleep, feed and nest! This activity shows you how to make habitats like toad houses, bird baths and more. Often these little habitats are used by multiple different animals, which means they would also be perfect for our friend, the field mouse!
