Reusable Water Balloons

Reusable Water Balloons

Time:40 min Difficulty:Easy

Water balloon fights are fun, but all of those balloon scraps they leave behind are not. Try using these DIY reusable water “balloons” instead!

Here’s what you need:

  • An old t-shirt, washcloths, or soft sponges (if you don’t have anything lying around, you can usually find packs of washcloths and sponges at your local dollar store)
  • Rubber bands or twine
  • Scissors
  • A bucket full of water

Here’s how you make it:

Step 1:

Trim your cloth or sponges into 1 inch strips.

Step 2:

Gather a few of your strips and use the twine or rubber bands to tie them together in the middle. You'll want at least 5 strips if you're using cloth, and at least 3 if you're using sponges.

TIP:

Depending on what you have and how many "balloons" you'd like, you could add more strips, too!

Step 3:

Once have a bunch of fluffy bundles, it's time to get outside and try 'em out! Soak your "balloons" in the bucket and have fun!

Once you’ve won your water balloon battle, set them aside to dry so you can keep them for next time!

  1. I made it super easy by crumbling up some washcloths, then tying them with rubber bands and we’re going to use them over the summer break!
