Egg-cellent mini garden

Egg-cellent mini garden

Time:30 min Difficulty:Medium

Ready to get cracking? Don’t throw your eggshells away. Transform them into mini planters!

Here’s what you need:

  • Eggs
  • Dirt
  • Seeds
  • Washable markers
  • A tablespoon

Here’s how you make it:

Step 1: Gently crack your eggshell near the top. Empty the yolk into a bowl and set it aside for an adult to cook for breakfast (optional).

Step 2: Ask an adult to help you carefully clean your eggshell with soap.

Step 3: While your shell is drying, cut a “stand” from your egg carton.

Step 4: Once the clean shell is dry, you can decorate! Use your washable markers to do colorful designs.

Step 5: Arrange your eggshell in your cardboard stands.

Step 6: Fill the shell with soil and scatter your seeds on top.

Step 7: Cover your seeds with a bit more dirt and then dribble some water on it with your tablespoon.

Step 8: Place your mini planter in a sunny spot. Make sure to water it so the seeds can grow.

When your plant is big enough, it’s time to move your planter to the garden. Poke a hole in the bottom of the eggshell, rinse off the decorations, and place it in a hole in the dirt! The nutrients in the eggshell will help your whole garden grow!
