In this season, Emma sets forth to follow in the footsteps of the once-famous, now-missing conservationist Adelia Goodwin. With the help of an old journal that she finds while cleaning up the attic at the Earth Rangers Centre, Emma finds herself on an exciting trip around the world, chasing clues and meeting many interesting animals along the way.
Unbeknownst to Emma, Sonic, the barn owl, hitches a ride. With Sonic by her side, Emma heads to the Pearl of the Indian Ocean to investigate the last place Adelia worked before her disappearance. Just what awaits her there?
How it all began
While helping out with the spring cleaning at the Earth Rangers Centre, Emma comes across a dusty old box in the attic. Inside the box is the original copy of the famous conservationist Adelia Goodwin’s secret journal! But the journal is missing a lot of pages… Why the pages are missing? Where is Adelia Goodwin now? What will Emma decide to do? Only one way to find out, so let the adventure begin!
DESTINATION 1: Sri Lanka
Eager to uncover the journal’s secrets, Emma wastes no time and takes off in her plane, Bessy, heading straight for the last known place in the journal: Sri Lanka. From the small town of Deniyaya, Sinharaja Forest Reserve, and the Yala National Park, she tours much of the south of the beautiful island.

The Mystery of the Avian Guides
After being startled by a beautiful Sri Lankan flying snake, Earth Ranger Emma continues her quest to find Adelia Goodwin, the once famous – now missing conservationist. With help from the journal, they need to figure out which waterfall Adelia used to work at. Deep in the jungles of the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Sonic the barn owl, Emma’s trusty sidekick, makes an interesting new friend that helps get them on the right track. But just when they think they have made a lucky discovery, their luck takes a turn for the worse.
Emma finds herself in a desperate situation that could end her quest to find missing conservationist Adelia Goodwin. But luckily a new friend emerges to help her out so that her journey can continue! Following clues from Adelia’s journal, Emma makes her way to Yala National Park in search of a “…mammal that walks at night and lives alone. Its name might make someone think it’s very slow but it can be quite ferocious…”

DESTINATION 2: The Himalayan Mountains
The next leg of Emma’s quest leads her to the Himalayas, up to Mount Everest. There she’s faced with a test of knowledge to prove herself and gain the trust of Dr. Juliette Giri, a snow leopard expert and fervent admirer of Adelia. Together, they scour the mountains and discover a riddle left behind…
Into The Clouds
Getting back on her plane, Emma takes off to Mount Everest to track down missing conservationist Adelia Goodwin, who wrote in her journal that she was heading to the world’s highest place. After a shaky landing and some hiking through the clouds, something causes Emma’s jaw to drop! What could it be?
After a long hike through the Himalayan Mountains, Emma still has ways to go before she reaches her destination. Dealing with high altitude and difficult terrain, Emma decides to call junior wildlife reporter Aliza, who lives in a snow leopard conservation area in Pakistan. After talking to Aliza, Emma discovers that Adelia is looking for an elusive creature high up in the Himalayas. Will Emma be able to follow in her footsteps and find what she is looking for?

After being approached by a rather agitated lady in the Sherpa Barista Bakery, Emma is shocked to discover that this mysterious person thinks she stole Adelia Goodwin’s secret journal! Emma quickly realizes that this individual must have known Adelia at some point. To gain her trust and prove her identity as an Earth Ranger, Emma has to answer three questions about animals and get at least two of them right! Can she do it? Can this mysterious figure tell her more about Adelia’s disappearance?
After checking out Dr. Juliette Giri’s research station, Emma leaves Sonic with her to look for clues about Adelia Goodwin’s whereabouts. After encountering clues that only deepen the mystery of Adelia’s location, a sudden surprise puts Emma face-to-face with what may be her biggest challenge yet!

After a big scare turns out to be a friend making a surprise entrance, Emma is thrilled to have a campfire chat with Dr. Juliette Giri high up in the Himalayas! The discussion turns to Earth Rangers wildlife adoptions, and Dr. Juliette Giri asks all about how they support real-life conservation projects. Emma tells her about the work being done with the Nature Conservancy of Canada to preserve the Lathrop Nature Preserve.
In the Air Again
Emma has solved Adelia’s riddle and knows just where to go next. Before she takes off on her new adventure, she learns a thing or two about how the animals living in the Himalayas survive in its freezing temperatures.

DESTINATION 3: Namib Desert
Emma’s worldwide quest for Adelia Goodwin takes an unexpected detour when her trusted plane, Bessie, experiences a GPS breakdown. She is forced to crash land in the middle of the desert and is faced with a difficult decision: Does she continue to chase after Adelia on foot and brave the inhospitable wilderness of the Namib desert, or does she take shelter at a nearby camp?
